Fast becoming the best "catch" of the day is the Kidder Recreation Area in north Wahpeton.

The Kidder Recreation Area is 26 acres, located along the Red River. The Kidder Recreation Area is also home to "Wahpper", the World's Largest Catfish.

Breckenridge, Minnesota

Breckenridge, Minnesota, on the beautiful prairie of the Red River Valley of the North, is a unique small city of 3,559 people. It's located on the Headwaters of the Red River of the North, the longest North-flowing river in the United States, flowing 549 miles to Lake Winnipeg, Canada, and from there to Hudson Bay.

As part of my trip to Wahpeton, North Dakota we traveled across the bridge to Breckenridge to see the start of the red river. I have 26 photos loaded to the site and I hope you like it

Mondo Circus

I was at the 2 pm show on April 2nd here at the Mts center. It started off 10 min late because of all the people on the floor wanting elephant and camel rides. It started off with a girl sliding down a wire and I thought, cool. However I found it kinda slow and sometimes hard to follow when they have things going on in all 3 rings at the same time. I would've thought they would've had more clowns then the one they had. This is the lion that started off the show. If you want to see the rest of the images that I took from that day click on the link below.

Disney on Ice

Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey had its first showing at the MTS center last night and I was there in section 218. We had fabulous seats and had a lot of fun. It was well presented and was just under 2 hours with the 15 minute intermission. The cartoon shows presented were the lion king, the little mermaid, lilo and stich and peter pan. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy were also present but weren't on the ice long they were there more for introductions and let the other cartoons have the stage. The show really kept your attention focused on the ice and to what was going on, you definitely wont be bored at this event. Since I am a big kid I'd say that I would go see this again in a heartbeat. Its like watching your cartoons come to life :D

anyway, I took around 500 photos but decided to keep 125 of them and they are already posted on my site.

red river freeze - winnipeg roller derby

It was the Murder City Maidens vs the Red Deer Nightshades. It was held at the winnipeg convention center and I've always been kinda curious on why you walk through metal detectors and...they don't really check you. We just heard..oh ..it will beep anyway because of change, keys etc..and they just let you through. not that anything happened or ..well would ..I just find it curious.

Anyway, it was a fun event, even though I was cheering for the Murder City Maidens, the Red Deer team was very good as well and won the event.

I do have some photos and I will show the link to them now :D

tenacious D

with Jack Black, the story of his "band" ...funny but pretty dumb in parts. I have seen the movie before. Meatloaf plays his dad in the beginning of the movie.

Jack and his partner go after the magic guitar pick that was supposed to be created from a devil's tooth...
kinda goofy ending really...

3.5 out of 5

would I watch it again? I don't know...

the condemned

This movie has stone cold steve austin in it.. first time seeing this movie or even hearing of it...
seemed pretty good of what I watched of it..
I was making dinner at the same time.

the movie itself reminded me a bit of death race, another cool movie that pits prisoners against each other...
death race with a car..and condemned on foot...
pretty good scenes and premise..the prisoners were dropped off on a secluded island given weapons and well..the last one to survive got his freedom while the whole thing was taped live and streaming over the Internet.

I would definitely watch this again

4.5 out of 5 stars

mirrors

I watched Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland, although I have seen it before. It does get quite gruesome in parts but thats ok with me.

Kiefer finds trapped spirits in a burned out store...as a night watchman and some of the things he seems is pretty gross but cool at the same time. I rather enjoyed the movie..

Aliens in the attic

I just finished watching Aliens in the attic and I found it pretty funny. I am happy that I watched it and I would definitely watch it again. Storyline was about some kids that went on a family vacation went to fix the satellite on the roof and found 4 aliens...in the attic..who then tried to mind control the kids. One of the aliens did put a mind control device on the teenage daughter's boyfriend and that was pretty funny..especially when the other kids got a hold of the controller.

very well done.and very funny.loved it

5 out of 5 stars..
and I would definitely watch it again :D

man on the moon

I watched Man on the Moon with Jim Carrey it was of course about the life of Andy Kaufmann..
fantastic movie. I think he played him really well and kept me interested throughout the movie.
Funny that I haven't watched the movie until yesterday. I guess I've been meaning to ..but never did..
I try to watch all of Jim's movies because I like him as an actor and comedian.

I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
and yes I would watch it again.

13th floor

I watched 13th floor because of the actor that was in it.
He plays on law and order criminal intent. His name is Vincent D'Onofrio and I like him.
Plus I remember wanting to see the movie when it came out but never did for some strange reason..
the plot line is different...its a virtual reality within a virtual reality...
a murder happens...that appears to be in virtual reality but the murder investigation is real...
its pretty cool how the characters jump back and forth between realities...

I would give it 4 out of 5 stars...
and yes I would watch it again.

fracture

the 3rd movie I watched today on netflix, it was pretty good. I enjoyed it.
Anthony Hopkins stars in the movie as a man who kills his wife...
and sets a trap for his wife's lover who happens to be the cop who arrests him for her murder and takes his confession. I think it was very well done. He goes up against a young prosecutor who doesn't know how to handle him. It does have a good story line and kept me interested in the movie all the way through.

5 out of 5 stars.
I would buy this movie and I would definitely watch it again.

fly me to the moon

The 2nd movie I watched today on netflix, was fly me to the moon, a cartoon about 3 flies that want to go to the moon. I think that one too was supposed to be 3d....
but I watched it in 2d.

it was kinda cute...had some pretty good voices in it.
including Tim Curry and Christoper Lloyd.
the 3 houseflies manage to get onto the space shuttle and make it to the moon...helping out the astronauts when there was a short in one of the lines

I would give it 2 1/2 out of 5 stars...
it was cute..but would I watch it again?
I don't know...

Open water 2: Adrift

Now that I have netflix at home I can watch a ton of movies..for $8/month. Pretty cheap! and it works fabulous. For a movie lover that is quite the deal and I can watch movies before I buy them..or just watch them over and over on the computer.

The first movie I watched was Open Water 2: Adrift. I have the first one on dvd so I thought I would watch the 2nd version online. It wasn't bad..although I think I did watch it before.

I did like the first movie better then the 2nd..
I would give it..oh...
3 out of 5 stars...

the story line is several people go out on a yacht for a nice little cruise..then they decide to go for a swim, unfortunately all of them jump off the boat..then can't get back on the boat as there is no ladder or way to get back on...I am not gonna tell you the ending but it was predictable.
still not bad though

Despicable me

The 3rd movie that we seen on Christmas Day was Despicable Me. A cartoon that was supposed to be 3d but saw the 2d version of it. It was very cool. It would've been better seeing it in 3d but I gotta say it was good. A little corny in places but I liked the story line..and the scenes were well done.

I do plan on getting it and hopefully seeing it in 3d at home one day soon. Steve Carell was really good as the voice of Gru, the wanna be villan in the movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

4 out of 5 stars

Unstoppable

The 2nd movie that we went to was unstoppable at cinema city on mcgillvray in winnipeg. I do love Denzel Washington and wanted to see that movie so we went. I was very happy with the movie. I was often sitting up closer in the seat to watch the action as it was happening. It is a fantastic movie, great drama. The movie is about a unmanned rolling train, at high speed down the tracks while carrying some dangerous goods..that would explode and take out a town if it derailed.
denzel plays a train driver who goes after the running train.
very well done indeed.

I would give it 5 out of 5 stars..
and I can see myself buying the movie when it comes out on dvd.

Yogi Bear in 3d

well, I spent my Christmas Day by going to 3 movies and spending the day in 2 theaters here in Winnipeg. The first movie that we went to was Yogi Bear in 3d in st vital center - silvercity.

First of all let me say that going into the movie I had the impression that it was going to be really really dumb..but I was pleasantly surprised. I did enjoy the movie immensely.
It was good in 3d.. you saw some things flying out at you...it was really well done.

I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

just want to say happy new year

to everyone out there:D perhaps I'll add movie reviews to the blog as well as photos for the downtime that I have in between going places to take photos .
