a slide show of my 3d artworks

If you wanted to see some of my other  works I do 3d artwork as well...and here is a slideshow for you to view. All of these images are on my website as well.

Cooks Creek Manitoba

Cooks Creek manitoba is a short drive from Manitoba's capital city of Winnipeg.

Even though it is so close, a 46 minute drive - few people realize what is there. This is the immaculate conception church which also has a grotto. Isn't it beautiful?

it is a must see thats for sure. The church does resemble a castle. I am standing on top of the Grotto to get this view. This view is actually from the side...the front of the church has angels on either side..trumpeting to heaven.

the rest of the gallery can be seen here:

lets see if the slideshow works

Souris Manitoba

We stopped off in Souris manitoba for one night of camping and at least it wasn't raining. It was a beautiful night..and yes I crossed the bridge...twice..the first time not so fun because some kids were behind me swinging it on purpose. the photo shown here is the swinging bridge. I'm standing on another bridge looking at it.
Built in 1904, the Souris bridge is one of the best-known long-span 'catwalk style' swinging bridges in North America. Patrick reports the 582-foot total length spans over nine piers making ten separate spans. The longest clear span is 242 feet. Of course you're just walking over planks..so it gives you a different feeling especially right in the middle.
anyway the rest of the souris gallery is here:

Melville Saskatchewan

Melville is Saskatchewan's smallest city at around 4300 people or so. Located around 30 minutes from Yorkton Saskatchewan. This is the 2nd time that i've been to Melville. The first being in the summer of 2007.  We weren't planning on going there but ended up there after it started raining at our campground.  It was still raining off and on in Melville as well and I didn't get as many shots as I would've hoped. We spent one night there and left in the morning.

the rest of the photos from this set can be seen here

St Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church

in Yorkton Saskatchewan is a must see if you're ever there. the address is 155 Catherine Street. Few Yorkton citizens are aware that in their very own city exists one of the finest paintings of its kind in North America. The painting is in the dome of the St Mary's Ukrainian Catholic church. The painting covers the entire dome and has a curvature of over 62 feet and is 55 feet from the ground. Stephen Meush is the artist who painted this between september 1939 and May 1941. The curvature required that the central figures and the 157 angels and cherubs surrounding them, be painted in a distorted manner so that from the floor level they would appear to be on a flat plane. The main colors are the orange, indigo and dull red as seen by Meush in Saskatchewan sunsets. Gallons of the best artists paints were applied together with Meush's own inks which he was continually seeking to improve. The paints penetrate to a depth of one eighth of an inch to avoid injury should flakings of plaster fall away. the painting is further protected by many coats of varnish.
The paining is an original and represents the coronation of the Virgin Mary in heaven. The image stands out brightly and depicts God as "the Ancient of Days" (Daniel 7:9) blessing Mary. Jesus is depicted holding a crown over Mary's head and te Holy Spirti is portrayed in the shape of a flying dove. Surrounding the thrown of God are 157 Angels of different sizes. Below the feet of Mary, there is a sky-blue streamer with a yellow inscription beaing the words, "Hail, Virgin, Full of Grace, Queen of Heaven, Holy, Holy, HolyAlleluia! Below the streamer there is an open book which reads: "Mary Advocate, Protectress and Perpetual Help of Christians."
Around the dome are 8 life size angels. These were done with a spray gun and a patter for each of the six colors.

i'm back from holidays

well, I made it back in one piece..more or less..:P  I took a lot of photos and I mean alot...over 1000..probably right near 2000...in the last 8 days.  so I'm gonna have fun working on them..I am not sure where to start..but i'm in the process of uploading some photos to a new gallery on my website called duck mountain provincial park. Here is one of the photos. I'm uploading 38 tonight. We spent 2 nights in the childs lake campground and did a couple of trails.  Although there was another trail we wanted to take called the wapiti trail but we couldn't find the start of it.  We drove around looking for it..but couldn't find a sign.  It rained on the 3rd day so we packed up the tent and left, we ended up in Saskatchewan - Melville to be exact for one night.  The photo included in this post is in childs lake ...if i remember correctly.

gimli manitoba

On Saturday July 4th we made a little trip to Gimli inbetween peewee baseball games.  We had a 5 1/2 hour break between games at a tournament so we first went to winnipeg beach and then landed off in Gimli.  These photos are from strolling along the harbour.. the clouds were kinda cool and we just missed the rain.   I found a new program to play with called dynamic photo and used it to work on my images.

fireworks, goldeyes baseball and a stray dog

well, the last couple of days have been interesting here, a stray dog came to visit me.  He was very sweet indeed, but I can't afford to keep a dog...so I called the lost animal line and I think they finally came to pick him up because I didn't see him when I got home.  I did get some photos of him of course and posted around 15 on my website. the link to see the rest of the photos is here:http://www.cdunningphotography.ca/p882653701

Tuesday Evening we went to see the winnipeg goldeyes play against the schaumberg flyers  they won 16-4 it was really a blow out.  For the most part a good game although one of our players - the short stop was injured and will probably be out for the remainder of the season. The link to the rest of hte photos is here: http://www.cdunningphotography.ca/p851523435

After the game, they had fireworks in which case I had my 40-150 mm lens on the camera and I think I probably should've put the other lens back on..but I kinda like how some of them came out.  The link to the fireworks is here: http://www.cdunningphotography.ca/p813840902

2nd camping trip 2009

For our 2nd camping trip of the 2009 season we went to my favorite place to camp - Hecla Island. I find Hecla to be one of the most beautiful spots I have ever camped.  I would love to have a house or cabin there one day.  I can see myself retiring there.  That is my dream.  This time we left on a Saturday morning - June 20th and stayed Saturday and Sunday night and came back on the monday.  That way we didn't have to rush to get set up and had more time to explore.  We arrived in the late morning got our site and set up.  Had something to eat then went to the beach.  I figured I would run around and take photos more on Sunday and use Saturday to relax.  The beach was nice but they need more sand on the beach as sitting on rocks was quite uncomfortable.  The water would've been way too cold for me to go in because this year it still snowed in may and that lake did not thaw out until late in may. I will post one of my favorite photos from that day which is one of my saturday evening sunset photos. I didn't get very many photos that night because the mosquitos were just eating us both alive.   I believe I got around 10 or so shots and then left and walked back through the bush and went to the marina.  I stayed at the marina while my boyfriend went back to get the car.   I did get some lovely shots of the marina while the sun was setting.  Sunday we did the lighthouse trail and walked along the beach and part of the golf course.  It was a beautiful day and we carried with us lots of bug spray.  Its too bad that there were so many mosquitos because boy oh boy were there lots of them.  I've never came across so many mosquitos in my life.  No matter how much bug spray we put on they still kept coming.  We saw a few deer, lots of geese and goslings and even a jackrabbit.  My boyfriend saw a fox but I missed it because I had the camera focused on a deer and didn't see it run behind me.  By the time we made it to sunset beach the sun had already set but I set up the tripod and managed to get some breathtaking photos.  Unfortunately it rained overnight and some of our stuff did get wet and we packed up around 9 am to come home.  Even with all the mosquitos it was a fantastic time and I can't wait to go back.

First Camping Trip 2009

Well the first trip this year was to the Whiteshell Provincial Park and we stayed at the Nutmik campground.  We left home on the friday night (the weekend after the may long weekend) and made it to Nutmik just before 8 pm.  We had no fun when we first got there because we made it just before the office closed and first picked a site just from the map.. we drove and took a look at it..didn't like it so we picked another one and drove back..which was fine.  Well after setting up the tent we found out that the electrical box at the site didn't work..so we found yet another site and literally carried the tent over to the new site and set up there.   It was too late to go back to the office and we knew no one was coming for that site so we figured we'd just drive to the office in the morning.

Even though the weather channel had told us that the low was around +5 I think it must've dipped down to -5 because we froze. Even that portable heater didn't work friday night and we got no sleep.  Saturday was a better day.  I crawled out of bed early and took some photos.  I really liked the light in the above photo and it was one of the first ones taken that morning with my olympus e520.  We drove to the office and no one was there so we decided to go for a trail walk and took the pine point rapids trail which is 8.2 kms long.  I managed to get some really good photos so it was definately worth the walk.  After the walk, we went back to the office switched sites, had something to eat then went for a drive.  I wanted sunset photos but it was chilly and I didn't feel like walking over the big hill to get to the beach so I settled for some campfire photos.

We left on sunday and on the way home we stopped off at pinawa dam and walked around the dam.  I think I got some excellent photos there too.  The link to the pinawa dam photos is here:
